This was painted based on Cliff's sketch. I was taking into consideration how to paint it with the same amount of detail that the 3d elements will contain. The mattes essentially MUST fit into the 3d world we have created; therefore, I was playing with some textures that can link the two.

Happy New Year!!

Hope everybody had a great holiday and got the rest we all desperatly needed.

But now is the time where we need to gear up to start pushing this film into production.

I hope everyone knows what they should be doing or should have done by now, and if you don't, find out, and lets get it moving.

We only have 6 days left until school starts up again. And due to the complete lack of communication between all of us, who knows what has yet to be done.

I am sending out an email to every one to give a heads up to this matter. So please do not ignore it, As we have limited time left to figure out what we need to do.

Hello everyone! Here are some rendered images of Haka, the other character for our film "Catch of the Day" These pictures are of the rigged 3D model. I was using them to play around with the character and troubleshoot a few problems with the rig. There is still alot of work to do with both the characters, but they are on their way. I also wanted to see how Haka looked interacting with the fish in our film so I borrowed the fish Farrukh is currently working on and I think it works well.

C+C always welcome!

Here is an example of Tapu's texture. This image shows the subsurface scattering pushed to an extreme, he obviously will not be this transparent but it is a good example of how light can pass through the character's skin.

Hey guys,
I thought I would post up a few on the renders we did of the character the other day. So here is the first glimpse of our character Tapu. He has just the first pass of rough skinning and texturing. These are tests that we did to trouble shoot the skinning and start to see the character lit in an environment. For this character the next step is to continue with the rigging(mucle system, facial animation and the animation interface) and texure his painted tattoos.

Hey yall!.. here are some facial expressions I was playing around with for Haka. (Cliff, when rigging his face also think of the graphic change of shape that could occur in areas like the forehead.)

-Farrukh- I've been working with lights in Maya. I'm playing around with Final Gather (top) and just playing around with lights.
